5 Eco-Friendly Home Cleaning Tips That’ll Leave You Feeling Refreshed.jpeg

As we gear up for a toasty summer, we want to share a few eco-friendly cleaning tips that’ll help keep you and your loved ones feeling refreshed at home! Our eco-friendly cleaning tips are easy to follow and feature ingredients that you likely already have, making this efficient and easy!

Ingredients:

  • Water

  • Vinegar

  • Salt

  • Lemon

  • Grapefruit

  • Baking Soda

1. Clean Your Glass & Mirrors With Vinegar & Water

Mix vinegar and water (50/50) in a spray bottle, grab a rag, and clean glass or mirrors around the house! This combination is toxic-free, sanitary, and doesn’t leave streaks! This step is one of the most effective in-home easy cleaning solutions you can use.

2. Clean Your Shower and Faucet Heads With Vinegar & Baking Soda

This step is one of the most straightforward tips we have to share! Why? It’s a set and sits! Grab a freezer or sandwich bag and fill it with vinegar and a little bit of baking soda. We recommend mostly vinegar with 1/2 cup of baking soda. Grab a rubber band or something you can tie with, and secure the plastic bag full of contents over the shower or faucet head. Let it sit for 2 hours and remove the bag. Once the bag has been removed, run the water, and wipe the faucet or showerhead with a rag! All set. On to the next step!

3. Remove Steel Stains With Lemon & Salt

Water is known to leave some pretty tough stains on stainless steel surfaces and faucets. Grab a lemon, slice it up, and sprinkle a little salt on each piece. Scrub the stains and rinse with water. Wipe down with a rag, and you’ll have a nice shiny look! After you clean up the lemon and salt, spray a little vinegar water to disinfect the surface to kill bacteria.

4. Clean Your Couches & Chairs With Baking Soda

Baking soda works wonders! If you have a couch or a chair with a stain, or funky smell, use a little bit of baking soda on it! Let it sit for half an hour or so, then vacuum it up! Removing the dust and dirt before vacuuming the couches or chairs is recommended! You can do this on any cloth surface! Rugs, carpets, and curtains! Baking soda works great for odors, especially if you have pets!

5. Remove Bathtub & Sink Stains With Grapefruit & Salt

Citric acid eats away pretty much everything. So, if you have a grapefruit lying around, grab it and slice it up! Sprinkle a little bit of salt, just like we described above in step 3, and scrub! Once you wash away the stains, rinse with warm water, and spray with vinegar water to kill bacteria. Not only will your appliances shine, but you’ll be getting some excellent aromatherapy, too! Enjoy!

(Don’t worry, you can use lemon if you don’t have grapefruit! We like to switch things up from time to time. 😊)
